Ahh, so many wonderful memories! Though when I went to Mumokuteki I had a very different experience and got accidentally fished after being told by another blog it was a vegan restaurant, and they didn’t have any English menus or vegan symbols, and I had forgotten my ‘I am a vegan’ flashcard in Japanese. It looks like the menu has completely changed in the last four years, though, and is more clearly marked, which is good. They certainly didn’t have that stuff on the menu when I went there!
I ate at Cafe Matsuontoko quite a few times, it was pretty great.

Oh nooo, how disappointing! Things must have definitely changed, it’s all very clearly marked now so there’s no confusion.

  2. Well reading this made me miss Japan! I really enjoyed Kyoto when I visited in 2014 and, like you, I definitely went burger crazy whilst I was there. When there are so many good options how could you not?
