Did you hear the collective cheer from vegans everywhere when Kat Von D announced that her entire cosmetics line would be transitioned to all vegan formulas? As a huge fan of Tattoo Liner, I was one of many super stoked to hear the news from a brand that already made great efforts to easily let customers know which of their products are vegan.
I was recently sent a few Kat Von D products to try and really wanted to give you guys the lowdown on what I think about ’em.
I had heard premo things about the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($30.00 AUD) so was stoked to take two shades for a spin. I am absolutely going crazy for the shade Ludwig, an outta control nude fawn colour that is going to take your next nude makeup look to the absolute next level. Santuary is for sure the perf shade to take that nude look to night as its still in the nude family but with a darker coffee tone.
The formula of the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is so smooth and easy to apply but leaves a true matte finish that is pretty hard to budge. This is definitely one of the least drying matte lip formulas I have tried, plus it’s super lightweight. I’m not going to continue without addressing the banging packaging; a sleek tube with a dope matte black lid and metallic rose illustration that somehow manages to not only avoid tackiness but look classy af.
One of the only other Kat Von D products I had tried before today was from the Lock-It range so I was stoked to try the Kat Von D Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist ($36.00 AUD). This non-aerosol dispenser uses a Soft Mist System to deliver the same continuous spray without the harmful environmental impact – NICE! When sprayed on the face, you can totally feel the lightness in comparison to other non-aerosol setting sprays. It feels weightless, smells fresh and keeps your makeup look in place for ages.
I was already a huge fan of Kat Von D and her commitment to creating unique, high quality, vegan friendly products but these three have further proven to me that I need to try a million more. Sorry, self-imposed makeup ban!
