Most of the vegan-friendly foundations on the market nowadays are quite inexpensive, however they rarely provide enough coverage to make it look like I am actually wearing any make up! By the end of the day it has completely worn off which is a massive hassle as you need to wash it off and start all over again.
I don’t wear a lot of make up, but when I do, I would like it to look like I am actually wearing something as opposed to a sheer coverage with a slight tint. For a while now I have been searching for a foundation that suits my needs and am more than willing to pay a little more for it.
Inika Liquid Mineral Foundation is more expensive than most of the vegan-friendly foundations I have come across however it is well worth the price. This product was a finalist in the 2010 Prix de marie claire de la Beauté Awards -Best Make-Up Product (Splurge) which makes it not only a great option for vegans but for non-vegans as well!
Inika is a 100% natural Australian brand of cosmetics and guarantee their products to be free from harsh petrochemicals, fillers, talc, bismuth oxychloride, GM ingredients, parabens, preservatives, mineral oils, phthalates and fragrances. Instead, this foundation is full of organic antioxidants, vitamins and minerals such as green tea extract and rosehip which actually aids your skin rather than damage it.
When you squirt a little onto the back of your hand, you can immediately see the difference between Inika and the cheaper brands. Once applied to the skin, your skin appears dewy and fresh, providing great and lightweight coverage so you can actually see the difference! For days when I want a tint rather than total coverage, I just add it to my facial moisturiser and it does the trick.
So if you’re looking for a foundation that does a little more for you than your current foundation, I would give Inika’s Liquid Mineral Foundation a shot. I look forward to trialling some of Inika’s other products, so I can give you some more assistance in finding great vegan cosmetics!
I’ve been looking for a good vegan foundation, thanks for this write up 🙂
