Y’all know how much I dig Orgran because not only do they make bitchin’ products, they’re inexpensive and super accessible (they can be found in most major supermarkets).
One of their newest products is the Vegan Easy Egg; a product that not only adds an “eggy” taste to whatever you cook but also does a pretty damned good job of emulating the texture as well. I’ve used this baby to create a super tasty and super Easy French Toast using only a handful of ingredients.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of white ciabatta bread (regular bread will be fine too)
- 2 tablespoons Orgran Vegan Easy Egg
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup non-dairy milk
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- Olive oil spray
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- Berries or vegan bacon to serve
Method
- Slice your ciabatta and set aside.
- In a small jug, whisk together the Orgran Vegan Easy Egg and water before adding the non-dairy milk.
- Add the brown sugar and mixed spice and mix until distributed evenly.
- Pour into a shallow dish and add the bread, allowing it to soak in the mixture before flipping and soaking on the other side.
- Spray some oil in a saucepan and put on medium-high heat.
- Allow excess mixture to run off each piece of bread before placing in the pan.
- After a minute or so, flip and cook on the other side.
- Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup and either berries or vegan bacon.
