Whether you love to cook or just love to eat, salt is a household staple so naturally I was stoked when The Salt Box got in touch to try out some of their amazing gourmet salt selections.

The Salt Box prides themselves on stocking high quality and natural salt, free of anti-caking and free flowing additives, conditioners, allergens or GMOs and are damn passionate about making your life salty – in the best way possible!

Now, you may be thinking that gourmet salts are too fancy for you but mate, you are wrong! I spend so much of my time churning out recipes for the blog that sometimes I want something super basic in prep but super delish in taste – that’s where you can use gourmet salts to take seemingly simple meals to the next level.

Take The Salt Box’s No.24 Black Truffle Salt ($24.95AUD) for example. Diced black truffles and sea salt are combined in a neat little package to add a punch of flavour and a hint of fanciness to your next vegan cheese toastie or OMG, POPCORN! Sprinkle a little of this stuff on just about anything and you’llĀ trick your pals into thinking Gordon Ramsay is in the kitchen.

Next time I make garlic bread, you’d better believe I am adding some of The Salt Box’s No. 17 Rosemary Salt ($10.95) to make it next level. This stuff is literally just sea salt and rosemary blended together to make comfort food that extra bit comforting.

If you’ve not experience the glory of Kala Namak, you are going to be amazed by The Salt Box’s No. 8 Indian Black Salt ($8.95). Veganising a dish with an eggy flavour? This baby is going to be your best pal in the kitchen because it contains sulphur compounds which gives it that egg yolk kinda flavour. Yes please!

One of the best bits about The Salt Box is that you can buy most of their salts in varying quantities. The small containers are my fave because they come in these cute little transparent boxes that I’ll be able to reuse once the salt is long gone. Did I mention The Salt Box also do salty gift boxes and bath salts? Well now ya know!

I’ll be coming at you with a recipe using one of the products from The Salt Box but until then, check them out and get started on your salty journey.
